Why weight training is essential for women.
-
Maintain Muscle and Strength
Strength training increases muscle strength, and prevents muscle loss with aging. -
Improves Bone Density
It strengthens bones, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures, which are especially important as bone density naturally decreases with age. -
Enhances Joint Health, Stability and Mobility
Improve core strength, strengthens the muscles around your joints, and flexibility, providing a solid foundation for lifting weights with better control and reduced injury risk. -
Improves Mental Clarity
Regular exercise releases endorphins, which help reduce stress, and boost mood. -
Increases Strength and Stamina for Daily Life
It builds functional strength, making everyday activities like lifting, carrying, or even playing with kids easier.

-
I've never lifted weights, is it suitable for me?Yes it is suitable for people who have never lifted weights before. As pt sessions are limited to 4 people it allows for more personalised attention and guidance. Exercises are adjusted for your ability.
-
I have an injury or pre existing injury can I still train? Please make sure you have consent from your doctor if it is a recent injury. If it is an old injury, yes you can still train as alternative will be provided to suit your ability.
-
Is this female only classes? All strength training sessions are female only. Pilates classes are unisex.
-
What to expect in straining training class? It is a traditional weight lifting class. It is not a circuit class, sweat nor a HIIT class. Each small group personal training class is limited to 4 people. Start with 5 minute warm up, working sets, and cool down. There will be 4 exercises in total, with demonstration of the exercises. You move at your own pace. I'm there to help you with technique, to spot you and more moral support.
-
How often should I attend? That is highly dependent on your schedule. This challenge allows 8 classes a month so you can plan on how many classes you'd like per week. If you can't do one week, you can do more on the other weeks. Examples 2 x pt sessions a week 1 x pilates and 1 x pt session a week. 2 x pilates per week On your active rest days I'd recommend pilates for better muscle recovery, improvement of mobility, flexibility, and core strength.
-
What if I want to do 3 sessions a week? That's great! Just fill out the contact form below and I'll send you the 12 x sessions a month plan.
What people have been saying
Class sizes are small, so lots of personal attention.
Cat is lovely - really knows her stuff and seems to know exactly how far to push me. Really enjoyed both pilates and strength sessions. Class sizes are small, so lots of personal attention.
Feel empowered. A life changing session!
I can’t thank Cat enough. I went into my first strength class post a shoulder injury from a fall and was a little nervous. I was given complete 1:1 focus with expert teaching as to how to build up strength carefully. I came out of the class feeling wonderfully empowered. A life changing session! Thank you.
Small classes, personalised attention with focus on form.
Great studio and Cat is a really good teacher! I love that class sizes are small so that you can have good interaction with the teacher and know if you’re doing things right. I’ll definitely be back!
